From November 3, 2025, every social-rent home from all housing associations in the province will be listed in one place: Groningen Huurt (groningenhuurt.nl). The platform runs on DAK (WoningNet), so you register once and can reply to homes across the whole province.

Current registrations and waiting time

If you’re already registered (for example with WoningNet or Thuiskompas), your account is migrated automatically and your longest registration time is kept. Expect a welcome email in the week of November 3; check spam if you don’t see it.

Groningen’s waiting times remain significant (the municipal council noted 2.9 years on average in 2023, and many homes go to urgent cases first), so keeping your accrued time matters.

Logos already shown include Acantus, Nijestee, Lefier, De Huismeesters, Patrimonium, Wierden & Borgen, Woonborg, Wold & Waard, Goud Wonen, Groninger Huis, Woonzorg Nederland, with all corporations in the province joining. Listings will move from the various “Mijn DAK” pages to Groningen Huurt on launch day.

Urgency and fees

Existing urgency declarations carry over if they are still valid after November 3. Groningen will run two urgency routes under the Groningen Huurt umbrella (city and Ommelanden), aligned with the municipality’s rules and Woonurgentie Groningen. A new registration costs €19 once, plus €10 per year; existing users pay the €10 annual renewal.

Today, people often juggle multiple portals (e.g., WoningNet and Thuiskompas). From November, one account and one app make searching simpler and more transparent across the whole province. For anyone already in the queue, nothing is lost and your longest registration time stays.
